Ib All Alone...Part Two...

She had an extra invitation.

They were given six invitations, to invite whoever they wanted to their ceremony, friends, family, anyone.

Ib's mother wanted to invite her grandparents, as well as her aunt and uncle… but Ib told her that she was only given five tickets, since they had run out…

But in truth, Ib wanted to make sure, just in case, that there was an extra on hand.

...He didn't know what school she went to.

Ib stood in front of her bedroom mirror...the mirror was cracked and broken.

The mirror had been attacked a few years ago when she suffered a fit of rage. A fearful moment where she thought she would be sucked into her own reflection, she would be trapped and in an alternate world. She thought she wouldn't be able to escape… HE wasn't there with her… without him, she felt that she couldn't escape anything... Her mary-jane had been tossed at the mirror in an attempt to free herself from imaginary bindings, and she had cried so hard that night... her mother nor her father could comfort her... Ib had to remain alone in order to deal with her own feelings, deal with herself and her own problems...

That's what happened anyway, right? She wound up in that terrible world alone...

...But she met him there.

Ib's favorite color was red.

Her room, however, seemed to hint otherwise.

She had plenty amounts of blues and grays, navy storms, some red here and there, but she cherished blue.

Red was her favorite color, but she cherished blue.

Ib stood in front of her mirror, now placing the extra invitation down, and she looked at herself casually with a light sigh. She was in her graduation robe, a light shade of grey with a few blue linings at the rims and edges of each opening, her school colors. The gown was close to hitting the floor, but she was a short girl anyway, she knew she would be putting on fancy heels in order to keep from tripping over her own clothes. She was more worried about walking across the stage on her own, and dealing with the crowds of people that just watched and eyed her.

"Ib! Dinner is ready! I need you to eat and get plenty of rest! Your big day is in two days, and your birthday in three!"

Ib paused, then yelled back down the stairs to her mother "Isn't my birthday more big than my graduation?"

She waited for an answer, but her mother had decided not to reply.

With a small smile, she looked back at herself in the mirror, before slowly slipping out of the gown and hanging it in her closet for another day. Maybe this year would be different, maybe he would actually come by and see her again? He had promised to see her again...they were supposed to go out for macaroons or something; anything. He was too nice to break such a promise, wasn't he?

...wasn't he?
